Are you thinking about spending some days in Madrid? Looking for a special event in particular? Well, we have good news for you because in the next few months there are so many things to do in our awesome city:  from the Holy week to the Gay Pride, Mad4you´s staff has some dates written down in their calendar and we want to share them with you!

Holy week (March 20th – 28th): To start with, in a few weeks Spaniards will be on holidays and,  although some of them will go visit other parts of our country or join their families in their hometown,  Madrid has some traditional events that may interest you. Processions are really popular here and, even if you are not religious, we recommend you to check out at least one of them. Some of the biggest ones are Maria Santísima de los Siete Dolores (25 March at 19:30) or the expected Silence Procession (also on Friday at 19:00). For more info, visit this link: http://www.esmadrid.com/agenda/semanasanta-madrid

Gay Pride (June 29th – July 3rd): More than 1,5 million people attended MADO (Madrid Orgullo) last year. It is an event that you honestly should not miss! The pride´s parade is the main event and goes from Atocha Station to Plaza de Colon. In addition, you can listen to open air music and enjoy different parties and performing stages all over Chueca  (the gay district, of course). After that, keep partying is absolutely not a problem as Madrid turns crazy and it is a non-stop fiesta all day long. Learn everything you need to know about the Madrid Pride here: http://www.madridorgullo.com/en/

Here are a couple of party-recommendations:

Delirio (Libertad, 28):  This little basement in the heart of Chueca opens every day until 5 in the morning and is a good choice if you want to meet new people and have a really nice time. 😉 http://www.deliriochueca.com/

Cassette Club (Tetuán, 27): One of Madrid´s top clubs. If you like electronic music than this is definitely where you belong. http://www.clubbingspain.com/clubs/madrid/cassette.html

And what about concert halls? Well, almost every famous band pays a visit to Madrid throughout the year and since at Mad4you Hostel we like good live music, we would like to suggest you three concert halls and their events in the next months:

1. La Riviera (Paseo Bajo de la Virgen del Puerto, s/n):

The Vaccines  (March 18th)

Noel Gallagher (April 8th)

Madness in the Veins 2: Powerwolf y Dirkschneider  (April 4th)

If you are a festival enthusiast (I mean, who isn’t?) then it is your lucky year because a couple of festivals will rock Madrid in 2016; the first one has become a must amongst music lovers all around Europe and the other one is a new festival that we hope will become an annual appointment at our city:

DCode (Complutense University Campus, September 10th): Since 2011 this festival is bringing bands of different styles, such as Beck, Crystal Fighters, Sigur Ros, Suede or Vampire Weekend, to Madrid. At the moment, only The Eagles of Death Metal are confirmed for this year, but keep up with the website because there will be surprises for sure! http://dcodefest.com/

MadCool (Caja Mágica, June 16th, 17th and 18th): It is the first edition but it already has an amazing line up with bands such as The Prodigy, Jane´s Addiction, Two Door Cinema Club, Kings of Convenience or Stereophonics. The main gig in MadCool will definitely be Neil Young, do not miss an unique chance to enjoy one of the biggest musicians alive. http://madcoolfestival.es/

Still need more reasons to visit us at Mad4you Hostel in Madrid? OK, then, here are a few more:

Documenta Madrid (Cineteca  April 27th – May 8th): Very interesting  international festival that only focuses on documentaries: http://www.documentamadrid.com/

Frinje (Matadero July 1st-17th): This is a performing arts festival arranged for the Spanish Teather. It shows new artistic ideas that dare to defy our politic and social situation. http://www.frinjemadrid.com/
