CARDENAL CISNEROS

Surprisingly, in this very small street which is less than 50 meters long, you can find more than 40 taps and more than 400 types of bottled beers. Some of the most important ones are:

Oldenburg (Calle Hartzenbusch 22, corner with Cardenal Cisneros)

Oldenburg is the veteran of breweries as it has been serving imported beers to its clients for more than 30 years now.

A few noteworthy ones: Chemay, Orval, Weihenstephaner and most important, Tedeum, made with the personal recipe of the founder of the bar.

L´Europe (Calle Cardenal Cisneros, 19)

In this German style brewery you can find more than 14 different types of crafted beer. Our recommendations are Pilsner Urquell, which is fresh, unfiltered and unpasteurized and the Dutch quadruple Urthel Samaranth.

Also, a menu full of German inspired dishes is available so that you can try the super tasty meatballs in Trappe sauce or the typical sausages, a classic in the German cuisine.

Madriz Hop Republic (Calle Cardenal Cisneros, 21)

Just next to l’Europe, Madriz Hop distinguishes itself for its modern design, perfectly mixed with crafted beers, oriental cuisine and exotic Vietnamese snacks.

We suggest you to try the local Spanish beers they have on the menu, such as the Madriz with its three varieties: Luchana, Arapiles and Chamberi.

OTHER BREWERIES:

Chinaski (Calle Fe, 19)

This place is named after one of the most famous fictional characters from Charles Bukowki and it is located in a big psychedelic bar in the area of Lavapies.

It has 18 taps that includes a wide range of beers from pretty much everywhere: Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium and Denmark to name a few.

If you also feel like snacking a bit, you can choose from a nice selection of cheeses, morcilla de Matechana (black pudding), foie and pates.

Fábrica Maravillas (Calle Valverde, 29)

A well-known brewery in Malasaña, where they brew and serve their own beer. They offer different styles of beers: from the Malasaña Ale (very light) to the Valverde Saison or the Imperial Stout and Pale Ale.

It is a small venue that gets packed pretty quick but it is worth a visit, especially because, as if it was not enough, they never run out of snacks.

Fogg Bar (Calle Moratín, 5)

Located in the lively neighborhood of Las Letras, this bar with its rustic vibes offers an infinite selection of Spanish crafted- and draft beers.

The place has ten taps, of which four of them are always La Sagra, while the others keep changing.  They also have 40 labels that come from all over Spain and an interesting menu of cheeses and cold cuts.
